Fake out Greek Pitas






Fake-Out Greek Pitas Recipe:
Ingredients
  • 1 package of pita bread
  • 1 pound lean ground chuck
  • All Purpose Greek Seasoning (APGS)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 (4) ounce container of feta cheese crumbles
  • 2 medium roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 TBSP Oregano
  • 2 TBSP minced Garlic
  • 1 package of original hummus
  • 2 TBSP Italian seasoning
  • 2 TBSP horseradish paste
  • 2 TBSP mayo
  • 3/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 of a lemon, juiced
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
1. Directions: Combine mayo, horseradish, garlic, Greek yogurt, 1 TBSP APGS, 1 TSP oregano, 1 TBSP Italian seasoning and lemon juice.  Refrigerate until ready to serve
Season Meat with 1 TBSP each of APGS and Italian seasoning
2. Cook meat breaking up constantly with 1 TBSP olive oil
3. Warm Pitas. Spread one side with greek sauce that you made and one side with hummus.  Top with meat and then feta, lettuce, tomato, onion.

*The body and complexity of this cabernet can stand up to all of the flavors in the pita.  It is great to sip with dinner but just right to have another glass after dinner too.
