Southern Mustard BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:
3 tbsp butter
1 shallot, cut into a few pieces
1 Serrano pepper, stem removed and cut into 4 pieces
1 clove garlic, smashed
2 tbsp worsteshire
2 tbsp brown sugar
5 tbsp apple cider vinegar
4 tbsp yellow mustard
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp pure cane syrup
1 chipotle in adobo plus 1 tbsp adobo sauce
1 (14oz) can of fire roasted tomatoes with green chiles
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp Ancho chili powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp chicken stock

Directions:
1. Start your Dutch oven on medium low heat. Add the butter, Serrano, shallot and garlic. Salute for about 3 minutes
2. Add in your dry spices and stir for a minute or two. This helps the spices open up and get extra flavor
3. Begin adding all of your other ingredients over low heat and stir often.
4. Bring to a low simmer for about 10 minutes.
5. Let cool, then blend until smooth.
This make about a 20 oz jar of sauce.

Enjoy with my Best Dry Rub for ribs.
