Castle-like Cheeseburger Sliders

Ingredients:
1.25 pounds ground beef (makes one 9x13 pan, which is 12 sliders) I used ground sirloin but it would probably be even better with a regular grind 80/20 meat.
1 bag and a half of shredded cheddar cheese, or a whole package of cheddar slices.
1 package, Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp peanut butter (creamy)
1 onion, diced small
butter
Dill pickle slices
1 package (12 count) mini hamburger/slider buns (if you can't find these, you can use Hawaiian rolls or dinner rolls)

Directions:

1. Mix together the meat, soup mix, mayo, peanut butter and seasonings. Mix gently just to combine. You don't want to warm the meat too much with your hands.

2. Preheat oven to 350.

3. Spray a 9x13 pan very well with cooking spray. Spread onions on the bottom of the pan. Press the meat mixture into the pan to make a flat "patty" in the bottom of the pan.

4. (You can refrigerate the meat for up to 2 hours if you aren't ready to cook yet.) Bake for 25 minutes in the oven.

5. Remove and cut into 12 slider squares with a sharp knife, being careful not to pull or tear the patties.

5. In another (clean), well sprayed 9x13 pan, put the bottoms of your slider rolls.  Place a patty on each one and then top generously with cheese. Top with a buttered bun. Cover with foil and return to the oven.

6. Warm the buns and melt the cheese in the oven for about 10 minutes. Serve with your favorite condiments and pickles and enjoy!
