Smashburgers

 Ingredients:

1.25lbs ground beef
salt, pepper, garlic powder
Butter
4 medium size hamburger buns (I did Brioche buns)
8 slices of American cheese
4 slices of bacon, cooked
lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle (optional)
BBQ sauce or bacon jam (optional)

Directions:

1. Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder and mix gently. Form into 8 even size balls and set aside.

2. Slice your buns and butter them lightly. Keep them warm by the stove and place in the microwave.

3. Heat a griddle to medium high heat and brush with butter.

4. Place the meat balls on the griddle for 1 min. Then use a heavy mug or meat press to press the burgers down on the flat top. Let sear for 1-2 minutes and then flip. Once you flip press down quickly again.

5. Lower the heat now. Top each burger with 1 slice of American cheese.  Use a pot or bowl to dome the burgers and help the cheese to melt for 30 seconds.

6. Heat up the buns. Stack 2 burgers together on one bun and add a slice of bacon. Optional to top with bbq sauce, bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.
