BBQ Bacon Cheddar Cheese Burgers on a Pretzel Bun
Ingredients:
2 pounds og 80/20 ground beef
6 slices of medium cheddar cheese
4 slices of applewood smoked bacon, cooked
1 shallot
1 TBSP minced garlic (or chopped garlic from the tube found in the produce dept)
Lawrys season salt
pepper
4 pretzel buns
French's fried onions (from the plastic container) or your own homemade onion rings
Your favorite bbq sauce
Directions:
In a large bowl, put your ground beef, garlic, grate your shallot and season generously with salt and pepper. Mix gently with an open hand.
If you have a large biscuit cutter, use that to help form your burgers. Divide the meat up into 4 balls to make 1/2 pound burgers. Use the biscuit cutter to form your patty by gently pressing the meat into the mold and then lifting the mold up to leave a nice round patty. Don't press firmly or pack it in tight this will create a dense and less juicy burger. Just press it lightly with your fingertips to just hold together.
Cook your bacon.
Cut your pretzel buns and spray them with butter cooking spray. Wrap in foil and warm them near the grill or on top rack.
Cook your burgers 4 minutes on one side over high heat. Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes. Add 1 1/2 slices of cheese to each burger. Close the lid for 1 minutes to melt.
Serve burger on a warm pretzel bun, top with bacon, onion strings, and BBQ sauce.
Enjoy!
